INTERNATIONAL EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM

Students are provided a US-based curriculum and standards. In K1 students take language arts, and math. In K2 all students take the five core subject classes [language arts (reading and writing), math, science, and social studies].

We follow the US Common Core standards for math and language arts. For Science we follow the NGSS standards. For social studies we follow the (American Education Reaches Out) standards. Chinese is also a required core subject area for our early childhood students. Chinese language instruction follows standards set up through the International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education and the Full Time Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standards. Kindergarten students also take non-core courses in art, music, PE, and computers (starting in K2) weekly. The computer curriculum is based upon the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards.

Starting in K2 our students internal assessment and achievement results are validated through the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) achievement test. This assessment is based on Common Core standards and provides detailed data on student performance as individuals and as a school.
